In Japan, most companies welcome new graduates all at once in April, but Colorkrew does things a little differently.
We value the timing of each encounter and welcome new team members throughout the year.
This April, two new employees joined Colorkrew (link to April Welcome Ceremony blog).
Following that, three new graduates from overseas universities joined between summer and autumn, and they have already arrived in Japan.
Additionally, one more new graduate is waiting for their residence permit.
In total, four new team members are now part of Colorkrew.
Here’s a look back at their Welcome Ceremony celebrating this milestone!
Welcome Ceremony
Colorkrew’s Welcome Ceremony is held in two parts:
- Part 1: A face-to-face session at the office with key stakeholders, where the CEO delivers a welcome message to the new employees.
- Part 2: An online session for all employees, featuring self-introductions and advice from senior colleagues in a more casual setting.
Part 1
CEO Keiji Nakamura delivered a heartfelt message to the new employees.
Although some of them have been working with us for three months and are already familiar faces, we took the opportunity to formally welcome them.
The new members listened attentively, showing their commitment and enthusiasm.
Part 2
In the second part, each new employee gave a self-introduction presentation.
Even though they’ve already started working with us, this was a great chance to learn more about their backgrounds and aspirations, leaving everyone inspired.
Hantus (Product Designer)
- From Taiwan, studied Product Design at the Royal College of Art in the UK
- Interested in design that integrates hardware and UI
- Hobbies: watching NBA games, exploring markets
Vincent (Software Engineer)
- From Indonesia, studied Computer Science at a university in Malaysia
- Experience as a front-end development intern
- Chose Colorkrew because of its flat and collaborative culture
Vanessa (Product Manager)
- From Indonesia, studied Business Analytics at a university in Malaysia
- Gained experience through four different internships before becoming a PM
- Attracted to Colorkrew’s flexible and responsible work environment
Fred (Engineer)
- From Beijing, China, studied Software Engineering at Peking University
- Experience in both front-end and back-end development
- Hobbies: singing, playing guitar, anime, and gaming; has a YouTube video with 1.2 million views
After the introductions, mentors delivered welcome messages, and two colleagues who joined in April shared advice for the new graduates.
With warmth and the friendly Colorkrew spirit, the ceremony concluded successfully.
